Dutch language test priority scheme for day-care centre or for secondary, primary and nursery education

Would you like to enrol your child at a Dutch-speaking school or day-care centre?

Your child will be given priority by the Flemish Government if you or your partner have a certain level of Dutch.

  • Level B1 for a day-care centre
  • Level B2 for a secondary, primary or nursery school

Which test will you take at the Dutch Language House?

There is a specific test for parents who want to enrol their children at a Dutch-speaking school or day-care centre. The test is oral, lasts half an hour and consists of two parts. In the first part you speak alone, the second part is a dialogue with the employee of the Huis van het Nederlands.

You are given a subject for each part and are allowed some time to prepare. The subjects are real-life situations from a school or day-care centre. You will get the results within a week. You can take another test after six months.
