I wish to become a volunteer

‘The whole world at my table.’ That’s how one of our volunteers explained why she likes to supervise Dutch conversation activities. And it's true: our audience represents a diverse cross-section of the Brussels population, from expats to refugees to French-speaking Brussels residents.

Do you want to give them the opportunity to practise Dutch? Become a volunteer at the Dutch Language House Brussels and supervise conversation activities!

What will my role as volunteer entail?

As a volunteer, you will moderate the exchanges during conversation activities.

You will receive tips and inspiration during our training sessions and activities for volunteers.

Where do I start?

We will work together to find a location that suits you, where you can work as moderator. We will discuss the various target groups, your talents and interests, your municipality, the organisations, frequencies … For example, you can get started at Babbelut conversation tables, in a community centre or a library. You can also supervise online activities.

An overview of the conversation activities currently on offer can be found at www.nederlandsoefeneninbrussel.be.
